Palugya Palace in Bratislava
Palugya’s Palace in Bratislava from the 1870s was restored in 2003 and won the Award of the STU Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava. After restoration, the facade of the palace presents a pure eclectic style with elements of the Neo-Renaissance. National cultural monument.

The palace was built by the rich wine entrepreneur Jakub Palugyay according to the project of the architect Ignác Feigler Jr. in an eclectic style. The main wing with a dominant middle floor has ground wings on the sides. The attic is decorated with terracotta allegorical figures. The architectural shield with statues of Bacchantes has a functional clock in the middle. The palace was conceived as a suburban villa in gardens at an important crossroads in the suburbs, where a railway station was being built. The villa became a family residence with a residential and storage-production character. The wine and champagne trade flourished all over the world.
